Line-Up: Flo Dalton, Melina Serser, Barbicop, Hot Couture, Bad Hammer
Richtpreis: 23.–
Cosmic is our take on concerts aiming to fuse live bands or live acts with DJ sets, merging a classical concert setting with the fluidity of a rave.
For the second Cosmic of the season, we will immerse you in a variety of tempo, influences and open our hearts to jewels of rhythms and melodies.
The evening begins with a trio of concerts, each building in intensity from one artist to the next. We start with soothing lo-fi pop, transition to warm, comforting synths, and culminate in a vibrant blend of campy goth new wave. The night continues at KW with the legendary Flo Dalton from Lucerne, who will keep us dancing with his eclectic selection. Finally, we’re thrilled to welcome Melina Serser to close the night, inviting us to dream about the journey we’ve just embarked on…
Barbicop
Barbicop, established in late 2022 by Madeleine Sandri, a 23 year old Swissmmusician residing in Berlin at the time, owes its inception to her stint at an underground music venue in Neukölln. Immersed in lo-fi pop projects, she found inspiration to embark on her own musical journey. Her first single “Morpheus’ Mercy” hit the airwaves in December 2022, kicking off with a debut performance at Loophole,
Berlin. Her quirky take on pop music left the audience both joyfully moved and pleasantly perplexed. That initial show caught the attention of Janos from pojpoj, sparking a collaboration that landed her and her team gigs across Switzerland, Austria, and Germany in 2023, including Fusion Festival and Waves Festival Vienna.
Bad Hammer
BAD HAMMER are a dreamy alt pop duo who live and work in Berlin. Close-ups of nostalgia and sensation inspire BAD HAMMER‘s timeless and cinematic pop songs, which blend melancholic melodies, poignant guitar riffs, warm synth pads and subtly driving drum beats.
The duo have been playing shows extensively throughout Europe and the UK since 2018, including touring with Molly Nilsson in 2019 and Black Marble in 2022, as well as playing festivals like Grey Scale Festival alongside Molchat Doma and Lebanon Hanover and Synästhesie Festival alongside La Femme and Ice Age. In fall 2024 they played their first showcase festival at Waves Vienna.
BAD HAMMER first released a demo version of their song »Forever« in 2018 on »Mixtape III« by Berlin indie label Mansions & Millions (Discovery Zone, Meagre Martin etc.). 2019 saw the release of their debut EP »Extended Play« (Doom Chakra Tapes / ITIS!), »an ethereal, atmospheric, and lush collection of shadow pop epics« (The Sun Lounge). 2020 brought »Mystified« (Doom Chakra Tapes / ITIS!), an exceptional single release in which the song‘s music video served as an advertisement for an eponymous and limited run perfume. In November 2022 BAD HAMMER released their debut album »End of an Age« on their own imprint Italian Island (ITIS!), about which bandcamp said: »Soft-focus synth pop that works its way slowly into your bloodstream, warm and comforting«. In spring 2024 they released the EP »Bad Hammer«.
BAD HAMMER produced a remix for Plattenbau for their release »Shape/Shifted (The Remixes)« out on Dedstrange Records (A Place To Bury Strangers etc.) in 2022 and a remix for God Is God for their release »Metamorphoses Remixes» out on Bureau B (Roedelius, Der Plan etc.) in 2023. They also produce a series of DJ mixes called »Temporary Hearts», of which two episodes also aired on Noods Radio Bristol, UK.
BAD HAMMER have received significant press from bandcamp, independent music blogs like turtlenek and Nothing But Hope And Passion as well as Germany´s most established print music magazine Musikexpress. They had radio plays on major national public german radio station Deutschlandfunk (reach 1,5 million) as well as on local radio stations, college radios and internet radio stations like Refuge Worldwide etc.
Hot Couture
Dancy grooves, veiled in darkness, with a hint of 80’s irony – Hot Couture formed with the intention of fusing the punky-gothy DIY Berlin sound with something more glam, camp, and polished. The result of this cocktail has been referred to as “the new new wave” by the likes of Roy Malloy, and has attracted audiences across Europe searching for an energetic show with a taste of contemporary nostalgia.
Flo Dalton
Booker at Kegelbahn Club, an important venue for Lucerne’s underground, Flo Dalton puts his musical knowledge to good use as in his curator role, but also as a selector of choice when he’s behind the decks. His cutting-edge, eclectic sets are influence by a rich knowledge of music, from EBM to nostalgic synths and vintage sounds, all skilfully blended into bewitching, danceable mixes.
Melina Serser
Influenced by Afro-american roots, she has spent much of the last five years refining her style into one that blends Downtempo, Electro, Trip hop, Breakbeat, Funk, Jazz and Ethnic rhythms, creating a rich and varied sonic tapestry as she uncovers unknown jewels to exhibit an exploration of rhythms and melodies from around the world.
She has traveled to Barcelona, Milano, Berlin, New York, Melbourne and Buenos Aires, sharing the stage with some of the local heroes such as Dj Koolt, Bruno Gervais, Z@p, and great european Djs like Vera, Omar, Binh, Mayan and more. In addition, she has recorded podcasts for renowned international magazines and labels like XLR8R, My Own Jupiter, YAY, among others.
