Hosted by zweikommasieben, the pioneering Swiss magazine devoted to documenting sound art, experimental music and nightlife aesthetics, this special Red Bull Music Festival event at Luma Westbau’s schwarzescafé intends to take an in-depth look at how club culture and the art scene overlap and impact each other.

From rave influences on prominent artists like Mark Leckey and Wolfgang Tillmans, to New York’s MoMa PS1 literally transforming into a club for its Warm Up program, or art collectives and spaces in Switzerland experimenting with various formats of clubbing, the two cultural practices have been increasingly intersecting and crossbreeding.

A panel discussion with artists, curators and activists will address this phenomenon and the numerous questions it raises. It will be followed by a concert exploring various facets of both practices and how they converge.
